Just wanted to wet your appetites with some of the highlights of fashion week for me. The clothes were more demure with zipper accents, well tailored skinnies, romantic ruffles, pops of color and impeccable tailoring (for the most part- saw some atrocious fits on models though).

Style & Grace 09
Wow! It's been awhile since I've written a new post but I'm back again!
This time I intend to write more regularly again. Keeping you posted on new tidbits and helping you develop your own personal style. Recently, the realization dawned on me that I was sometimes trying too hard to be "in" fashion instead of fashion being "in" with with me.
As the new "icon" of first lady fashion Michelle Obama put it in her interview with Andre Teleon of Vogue in the March 2009 issue.
"First and foremost, I wear what I love. That's what women have to focus on: what makes them happy and what makes them feel comfortable and beautiful. If I can have any impact, I want women to feel good about themselves and have fun with fashion ."
That's my mission too this year with life and this blog. Being comfortable in your own skin and expression of style whatever it may be. Doing it with style and grace while being true to yourself and not some hoitsy toitsy style editor who's mostly out of touch with mainstream America. Just check out what some think is recession chic- "cheap wedges that cost ONLY $200-$300 in the latest magazines--hahahah they really don't know.
Anyway, Stay Fabulous and till my next post discussing Fall 09 trends!

Rihanna sported this cute spring dress and tank combination while shopping at Fred Segal in West Hollywood on February 2oth, 2008. Well GREAT NEWS for us cheap chic fashionistas! Good Wednesday to all,
I just want to introduce you all to Mint.com!! I'm a believer in budgeting and having things in your household in order. A true fashionista is smart, savvy and of course ridiculously good looking (lol).Now it can be hard to keep track of all your expenses and cashflow so it's INSANELY great news that there's a service out there that does it ALL for you and looks flawless doing it.
When you register you add in all your credit/ debit card accounts and it will securely connect with your bank to obtain all your transactions. Mint works with over 2700 banks which ensures that nearly all of us will be covered. After that it will update your balance everyday so you will always have an accurate account of what financial state you're in.
PLUS it automatically categorizes your expenses so you can see EXACTLY how much is going into what category! I LOVE and hated this feature! Of course the biggest expense was shopping and it put it in perspective. Now I have budgets set up and Mint will automatically send me an email and text to let me know if I went over. Every Friday I get a fresh statement.. woo wee.
There's lovely pie charts, graphs and you can compare your expenditures to the national or a particular city average. (My shopping expenditures were still higher than the average --lol--sadness--lol).
I just HIGHLY recommend doing this!! It is such an eye opener and you can save money while at it. Mint will search for savings for you and so much more! So what do you have to lose?? It's free!!
